Participate in the Study

There are many ways to participate in the City of Oakland’s Race and Gender Disparity Study. Let your voice be heard. Attend a business outreach meeting, request an interview, submit a business survey, and provide a professional association membership list.

Click on one of the boxes below to learn more about how you can participate in the study.  Please visit our site frequently for more details. This page will be updated with additional information and events.

Four business outreach meetings were planned for October 2017. Business owners had the opportunity to learn about the Study methodology, meet the Study team, hear about the City’s upcoming contract opportunities, and learn about no cost technical assistance services that are available to start, grow, or sustain your businesses.

If you are a business owner who contracted with the City or has tried to contract with the City, we would like to speak with you. We would like to know your experiences and perceptions about the City contracting process. Your participation in an interview will provide us with valuable information to frame recommendations to assist the City in updating their practices. All interviews are confidential; your name and company will not be identified in any report.

Do you want to contract with the City? Please fill out this business information survey so that we can learn more about the goods or services your business provides and include your business in our list of available companies.

Click here to download a copy of the survey. Please email the completed survey to OaklandDisparityStudy@mtaltd.com or fax to (510) 225-1435.

Are you a member of a trade association, professional organization, or chamber of commerce? If so, please provide the organization’s member list and contact information. All lists will be kept in strict confidence. Mason Tillman will use the list to identify additional businesses who may be interested in contracting with the City.
